Apple seems to be facing increasing demand. The company from the United States asked suppliers to increase production of the next generation iPhone to 90 million iPhone units this year.
Launching the Bloomberg page, Huawei Technologies Co's smartphone business which is currently under sanctions is the main factor in increasing demand for Apple. The next iPhone will be Apple's second iPhone with 5G network as the main attraction for its users.
This year's update also puts more emphasis on processor, camera and appearance improvements, said the source, who asked not to be named. Apple is planning updates for all of its current models, including the regular 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch versions as well as the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Pro models. Phones codenamed D16, D17, D63, and D64 are expected to be announced in September.
At least one of the new versions will have an LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) display capable of changing the refresh rate based on the content being displayed. Previously, the technology has been used on the Apple Watch which allows the screen to be slower in certain situations to extend battery life.

The new iPhones with LTPO displays will also use IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) technology to improve power efficiency and sensitivity. The design of Apple's latest phone won't change much, but the company plans to reduce the size of the front camera and cut out the face sensor for unlocking. Meanwhile, the in-display fingerprint scanner feature will likely be eliminated.
Apple's camera upgrades will place the focus on more advanced video recording features such as improved optical zoom. The system-on-chip will also be upgraded and be housed around the same six cores as the A14 chip.
Beyond the new iPhones, Apple is gearing up several other products for later this year, including a new MacBook Pro laptop with a custom Apple chip, a redesigned iPad mini and entry-tier iPad models and an Apple Watch with a new look.
Apple plans to start production of the new MacBook Pro in the third quarter after facing several issues related to the MiniLED display that also challenged the launch of the latest iPad Pro.
